I will always be disappointed that there is no Bowring in St. John’s NL. We could use a store like that after all the stores we have lost. It used to be a magnificent store on Water Street in its day. It had the best Christmas display too. . It came back again as a furniture store on Stavanger Drive it seemed successful but as usual the owners want larger profits and close down those stores that are not as profitable. Profit is profit regardless of the amount. Pretty much the only stores here for household items is Winners and Marshall’s and that is hit or miss. Winner’s is not set up to order things for customers you only get what is on the floor.
